What a Weekend!

And it's not over, yet.

But pretty good stuff goin' on, so far.

This weekend was the church Father/Son Camp-out and for the first time, Loren was able to take the boys to most of it.

There were several years when Loren's health would in no way have made it possible, but everything came together this time around. Loren returned overnight (as did Nolan and Trevor) to sleep in a good bed, but Friday evening and much of this Saturday they were whoopin' it up at a campground, fishing, boating, and other campfirey activities, including golf :-)

The crew just got back and it was unanimous among the boys that this was one of the funnest, bestest, most wonderfulest times, ever.

Carolyn and I thought things were pretty sweet around the house, too.

There was sweet quietness...a lot of sweet not-having-to-prepare-a-sit-down-meal, and a fair amount of sweet eating-in-front-of-the-TV.

"I can hardly wait for next year!" Carolyn was heard to comment.

I imagine all the male-folk will sleep well, tonight. In fact, as soon as they came in the door the boys expressed how tired they were and "could they watch something..."

As luck would have it, Fox is televising a Yankees/Red Sox game, so the weekend's good times just keep comin'.

In other news, I have a couple of updates on the prayer requests I posted on Wednesday.

Lisa Gullman is home from the hospital. She is still numb on one side and slow getting around. Not sure if the docs know exactly what happened, but Lisa is very glad to be back home. They say she may get feeling back on her right side.

As to Loren's brother Mark, the recent episode where the doctors could not get his device to shock him out of v-fib has led to incarceration at a Dallas hospital, awaiting further evaluation for transplant. As I understand it, Mark has been listed as a "2" on the transplant list. Due to his problem being electrical, he may need special permission to get listed as a 1b or 1a, but this could happen.

They might also consider another stop-gap measure, but it looks like the transplantation listing process has started. And since the past several weeks have been extremely trying on Mark, with feeling badly and all, he is relieved to be in a place where he is safe.
