Out Ioway

My help comes from the Lord,
the Maker of Heaven and earth,
He will not let your foot slip-
He who watches over you will not slumber.

Oh Me oh My

I is tired!

Been workin' da land, most all day long.

Beautiful weather, despite a persistent wind. It was enough to dry you from marrow, out, or as we like to say in Master Gardening circles, dissicating.

The Herb Garden Project proceeds apace, with a few planned and unplanned changes.

First of all, I was following up on a rugosa rose root, when my shovel suddenly pushed into empty space.

The first thought was an animal burrow, but then it became apparent we had more of a cavern-like opening...

Water from the hose was utilized. Large chunks of the clayish soil were thrown in...

As well as some broken bricks.
Here is Trevor. (the three young boys all vied for turns, and perhaps I let Trevor do too much, this day. His fever has recurred)

At some point when the foundation was dug for this section, there was extra cement left over, and it was tossed into the ground right about here. Flooding in later years washed out a large hole beneath the cement, so we have our work cut out for us to fill this baby up!

On the totally humble and non-whining-for-attention side, here is an example of what happens when you don't cover your arms while transplanting an established rugosa rose.
Taken with my left hand, which means I be ambi-meek :-D
