Revising the Legend---(new feature!)

As the victim of many a disillusionment over past years, I thought it would be fun to have occasional forays into the actual truth of the matter.

For the first one, a real classic: The Frog

If you put a frog in boiling water he will jump right out. But if you put him in a pot of cold water and heat it up, ever so gradual-like, the frog will remain happily ensconced in said pot until it, oblivious, boils to death.

This happy picture is oft used to warn against the dangers of doing something too quickly, such as a business making a drastic product change (people are so shocked they abandon the product). Another use of this story is perceived complacency on a matter, for instance: allow a child one piece of candy and they'll start down the slippery slope which ends in Type II diabetes.

Anywho, Snopes.com says otherwise. Apparently, frogs jump out of the pot, no matter what.
