Better Him than Me

Facebook is being extremely lame tonight, not letting me post a picture. But Ma will not be thwarted!

Here is Loren up on the Swing-Set-of-Power, working on the platform for the boys.

As you can see, a boy or two is already up there, but alas, motherly forebodings are not enough to keep lads from shinnying up the pole and watching their fearless leader.

After supper, I persuaded Loren to fire up the skid-loader-that-needs-a-new-battery and move a mammoth rock (you can see it on the ground). Ethan found it underground as he was digging a seven-foot hole for one of the poles, last summer. The rock is so big that even I could not have moved it without herniating several disks.

That sounded like a lot of trouble, frankly. So I gave in and asked my husband if he could do it for me. He did :-)

Hopefully there won't be permanent skid-loader marks in the yard. But you know what they say, "If your husband is willing to let you stick rocks randomly around the yard, at least allow him a fun tool with which to move them."

And now that I see how easy it was, I told Loren I'm going to be looking for bigger and bigger rocks.

He said to keep it within five mile radius.
