Out Ioway

My help comes from the Lord,
the Maker of Heaven and earth,
He will not let your foot slip-
He who watches over you will not slumber.

Fat "Ma's" Reality Blog

Well, I got on the scale the other day, and besides the usual creaking noise, I noticed a few additional pounds. It's official. In the month and a half being at home, I have gained back the entire amount of weight I lost being up to Mayo for three months.

I guess you know, THIS MEANS WAR!

Yes, that's right. "Ma" is mad. She's as mad as Caligula and she's not gonna take it any-more.

Resolved: to lose weight

Goal: 10 pounds before Ardith's graduation May 7 (or, get below Loren's weight, whichever comes last)

Means of Implementation: do one new thing each day of this week to further goal. Reevaluate at week's end.

Today's Task of Denial: eat no trail mix (so far, so good. I am sipping tomato juice)

Possible Means of Amusement: calling on "Jim" and "Bob" for updates on progress

Last Ditch Effort Kept in Reserve: walk 26 miles per day starting April 25

"To the palisade
!"

*sounds of running, yelling and clashing of arms*

[4:00 p.m. update: Instead of trail mix (or a brownie :-) I have just downed a small helping of Kashi cereal. The outside of the box sports two ethinically diverse humans, one male, one female. They are literally beaming with health and vitality, exuding optimal nutrition from every pore. I only hope that I can be like them, someday.

The box also states that it contains, "20 % more granola and tastier twigs." I attempted culinary interaction with said "twigs." As a long time connoisseur of food, some of it tasty, I would have to say these replicas of small branches fall short of their modest claims. But, I would hazard a guess as to the whereabouts of the 11 grams of insoluble fiber.]

Thanks for the compliment on the photograph. I've posted more wildlife/scenery pictures, although being in Iowa you probably have enough scenery to sink a navy or three. Still, I've posted some pretty good (In my opinion of course) new pictures on The Shutter.

I just read you poem on Lego on the floor. Here I thought that was just our funny west coast Legos. They must have lessons on how to lay in wait for some poor unsupecting Mom's foot at the Lego factory before shipping.....Need to have some LETU engineer look into this matter....oh thats right it is one of those LETU engineers that helped that Lego lay in wait on the floor....makes one think.
