"Lord of the Beans" Review

Well, a little disappointing.

I am a life-long fan of Veggie Tales, The Penguins and what-not, but I must say this was a bit of a let-down. You simply cannot take an epic work, so marvelously woven in its literary form, so artfully embodied in the cinema, and then have it work in a 50 minute cartoon format.

And, I think this strikes more to the heart of a teen-adult. A young child will still get something entertaining and possibly edifying out of it. But that has been the beauty of Big Idea productions....they appealed on different levels to different ages.

This does not.

But, oh well.

I must say, it is somewhat amusing to hear Trevor playing with Legos and exclaiming, "Baggypants! Baggypants!"

Hopefully, the Hobbit and Trilogy will still be enthralling when he reads it on his own, someday.
