The Fat Report: Day 3
Very good day. Sunny, almost warm. The kind of day that makes one think there is life after winter.
I managed to coax Loren out for a walk on the road. He was somewhat dubious, but I exclaimed of the glorious weather porchside, and he obligingly came out. Once we were down the road apiece it was breezier, but quite bearable. Also, it was just too late to turn back:-) We finished the usual 1.25 miles.
It was so lovely, that after accompanying Loren back to the house, I continued on around the "block." That means I walked over 5, count 'em, FIVE and a QUARTER MILES. And those last four came in right at 1 hour, indicative of just how fast I have to keep my short, clumpy legs moving.
Today's Task of Denial: I shall attempt to skip supper. For the most part. This is one deprivation that will not be continued beyond today. But there is good reason to abstain. Tonight is prayer meeting, and after that is monthly Birthday Fellowship. This is every child's dream and every chubby person's nightmare. Oh I realize it is portrayed as an opportunity to celebrate that month's birthdays and partake of fellowship. But, the secondary purpose, lying just below the epigastric surface is: Diet Sabotoge. (yes, you heard me, and no, I'm not taking any of it back)
But I shall be good. Now that I've blogged about it I have to be. Besides, it's rather fun to think of those poor, deprived fat cells, getting all bleary eyed from lipid withdrawal. I am hoping that by mixing things up each day, my fat cells will become so disorganized and demoralized, that they will literally jump ship. Like frightened rats of yore, if you get my corpulent drift

Well, the kids are all through their baths on this church night, which means they probably won't be eligible for this prize..... Tweet

I think if our metabolism didn't drop after 40 along with our activity level, we wouldn't have such a struggle with the rolls around the middle.
la otra gordita
Hey Ma, I loved that "Lego on the Floor" poem. I just had to share it with other people in my family--they thought it was awesome too. I'm proud to say that it's going to be soon making the rounds at the homeschool group my mother is proud of, as Legos on the floor are a common bane of wives around these parts.
-Cicero, also known as Paul
(Deb, "Blogger" doesn't hate just you, it hates me, too. I lost my first comment)
To Paul, the Roman Orator: I am flattered yet astounded that people thought that silly poem was worth sharing. By the way, autographs can be had for a nominal fee. (Don't tell my husband as he gets rather jealous)
If I thought there was a market for this stuff I could crank out some more. (Don't tell my kids as they get rather embarassed)
"La Otra Gordita" I think I have you pegged, O Clever One From College Days :-) Now, let's see, "la otra gordita" means, "the old gourd," right?
I can see you're advancing by leaps and bounds with your Spanish!! Carry on. We shall hablar fluently soon.
